Our Story

  • Founded in 2016 by Agustin Quiles, Mission Talk began with a bold goal: to educate 100 young Latino leaders under 40 on issues affecting their communities. Working with partner organizations, the initiative addressed racism, incarceration, immigration, poverty, and education.

  • By 2018, participation had expanded to 600 leaders. During the pandemic in 2019, Mission Talk shifted online, training more than 300 lay leaders through a justice cohort.

  • In 2022, the focus turned toward prophetic advocacy, mobilizing 250 church leaders for action at the Florida State Capitol. By 2024 and 2025, another 500 leaders joined in, bringing the total to more than 750 mobilized over three years. In the midst of this momentum, Mission Talk launched the Justice Leadership Development for Community Transformation program to equip churches for outward-facing ministry and civic engagement.

  • In 2024 and 2025, Mission Talk led pilgrimages for more than 160 leaders to Alabama to study Black history—an experience that deepened their commitment to prioritizing justice in their ministries and addressing the social issues impacting Latino communities.
