40 Day National Fast
Mission Talk invites churches to join us for a National Fast for the immigrant from February 23rd to April 4th.
Mission Talk is calling churches, pastors, and believers across the nation to unite in a 40-day sacred journey of fasting, prayer, and public witness on behalf of immigrants, families, and our nation.
As Latino evangelicals, we believe fasting is not just a personal spiritual discipline—it is a biblical weapon. We are convinced that the crisis surrounding immigration, family separation, fear, and dehumanization is not only political—it is spiritual.
From February 23 to April 4, we are inviting churches and believers to:
Commit to fasting at least one day (or more) during these 40 days
Gather to pray publicly in front of an immigration detention center, immigration court, or another significant public or government site in your region
Stand as a visible, prayerful witness, crying out to God for mercy, justice, repentance, and transformation
This is not a protest. This is not a campaign. This is a solemn assembly (Joel 2:12–17).
We are humbling ourselves before God, asking Him to:
Intervene where human systems have failed
Break the power of fear, cruelty, and indifference
Protect families and children
Bring repentance, wisdom, and courage to leaders
Open doors that no one can shut
Throughout these 40 days, churches across the country will take turns covering the nation in prayer—one body, one cry, one hope.
We believe God still responds to the cries of His people. We believe He still moves mountains. And we believe this is a moment to seek Him together.
“Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the chains of injustice…” — Isaiah 58:6
Will your church take one day and stand in the gap?
