Death Penalty Virtual Forum

Florida leads the nation in executions despite having one of the highest numbers of people who have been exonerated after being wrongfully convicted.  As executions continue at an unprecedented pace, this timely conversation will examine the role faith communities can play in responding.

The forum will feature the powerful testimony of a man who spent more than 10 years on Florida's death row after being wrongfully convicted. One of only 30 people exonerated from Florida's death row, he will share his firsthand experience of surviving a system that nearly took his life. The conversation will also include policy expert Ingrid Delgado, who will provide insight into the current state of the death penalty in Florida and its implications for people of faith.

This forum will bring together Latino faith leaders and members of our broader community to explore the realities of the death penalty, reflect on its moral and human impact, and consider what a faithful response looks like. We hope you will join us for this important conversation.
