Our Work

Mission Talk empowers Latino churches to live out their call to justice and community transformation by drawing on core faith values like grace, compassion, and the common good.

The Problem

Florida is home to the third-largest Latino population in the U.S. Yet it’s also the least affordable state to live in, with low health coverage and nearly half of Latino households struggling near or below the poverty line.

The Latino Church is a trusted place of refuge and guidance, but many pastors hesitate to speak about justice. For decades, non-Latino organizations have shaped evangelical leaders without addressing the real struggles Latino families face.

Our experience shows something hopeful: when justice is presented by trusted Latino voices, church leaders quickly see how it connects to their faith—and many become passionate advocates for their people.

Our Approach

Mission Talk equips Latino pastors and churches for prophetic action through three areas of engagement:

Awareness

We begin with stories that open hearts and show how the Church is called to stand with communities in times of struggle.

Education

Through our Leadership Development for Community Transformation (LDCT) program, we equip pastors and church leaders with tools for spiritual discernment, organizing, communications, and public policy. Leaders gain coaching, peer learning, and hands-on experience as they develop projects that put faith into action.

Mobilization

We prepare leaders to guide their congregations into faithful public witness. Mobilization means moving from conviction to prophetic action when policies threaten the dignity of our communities.

Advocacy Campaigns

Education and organizing leads to coordinated advocacy campaigns designed and guided by Mission Talk. At the center are church leaders who bring faith and credibility into the public square.

Together, they meet with lawmakers, engage the media, organize community actions, and lift a prophetic voice at the Capitol and beyond. These campaigns address urgent policies and build lasting power for justice and community transformation.

Why It Matters
