A Call for Mercy: Pastors and Faith Leaders Urge Florida to Pause Executions
Over 100 Latino evangelical and Pentecostal pastors and faith leaders signed a letter urging Governor Ron DeSantis to pause executions and choose mercy. On October 13, Mission Talk organized a press conference outside the Leon County Courthouse in Tallahassee, where faith leaders publicly called for justice, mercy, and respect for the sanctity of human life. Their message reached audiences beyond Tallahassee through coverage by 15 news outlets.
As Pastor Omar Johnson of Freedom House Orlando declared:
“Our commitment to justice will never prevent us from asking: Is there room for mercy?”

In October, pastors from Mission Talk delivered letters to the Florida offices of U.S. Senators Ashley Moody and Rick Scott, urging them to support legislation extending Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitian families through 2029.
With hundreds of thousands of Haitians facing the loss of protections against deportation, faith leaders are raising their voices in solidarity with families who have built their lives and communities in the United States.
Their witness reflects God's command: “Love them as yourself” (Leviticus 19:34).

Mission Talk Leads a Community Exegesis Training in California
Mission Talk partnered with the Assemblies of God’s South Pacific District in Los Angeles for a training attended by more than 120 pastors and leaders from 32 cities.
The gathering was a time of deep reflection, prayer, and spiritual renewal, equipping faith leaders to lead their churches toward community transformation through faith, justice, and compassion.
Jeremiah 29:7 reminds us that we are called not only to pray for our communities, but also to contribute to their peace, well-being, and prosperity.
Voting is one meaningful way to participate in decisions that shape the lives of our families, our neighbors, and future generations. As Election Day approaches, we encourage all eligible voters to prayerfully consider the issues, learn about the candidates, and make their voices heard.
